Blending Traditional and Online Learning Opportunities

Frontier: an outer limit in a field of endeavor, esp. one in which the opportunities for research and development have not been exploited
Random House Unabridged Dictionary, © Random House, Inc. 2006

The Philosophy behind the Wyoming Public Schools Frontiers Program is based on assumptions that a number of the students of the 21st century desire or require flexibility in their learning schedule. The reasons that necessitate this flexibility may vary, but the common denominator is that this need for flexibility can now be addressed by our district outside of the traditional high school setting. This program is designed to accommodate a variety of student needs that may otherwise make success in a traditional setting more difficult. Our hope is to provide another excellent option for students to be well prepared to pursue either postsecondary options or to become a strong competitor in the current job market. For those students who find themselves compelled to progress through their high school experience at an accelerated pace, the Frontiers Program can be tailored to provide that opportunity as well.
